Care

Birds, Reptiles & Exotics

Animal Health Center Opelika-Auburn offers routine wellness and preventive care veterinary services for your bird or other exotic pet.

Exotic pets can also be seen for behavioral or medical concerns.

Wellness & Preventative Care

Like dogs and cats, birds and other exotic pets benefit from regular veterinary care to help them live a long, healthy, and happy life. Our team is trained in the unique care, husbandry needs, and veterinary treatment of these species.

During the initial wellness visit, our exotic animal vet will thoroughly review your pet’s nutrition, care, and housing. A complete and thorough physical exam will be provided. Health screening tests and vaccines will be discussed and recommended where necessary.

We will review any health, husbandry, or behavior concerns with you and address any questions or concerns you may have. Recommendations will be geared to the needs of your pet and their family.

Sick Pet Appointments

Our exotic pet vets can see birds and other exotic pets with health or behavior concerns. If possible, please call (334) 745-0060 in advance to determine the availability of our staff. While we do accept walk-in and work-in emergencies for exotic pets, there may be an additional fee if double booking of appointments occurs.
